DE Technologies Receives Second U.S. Patent For
International E-Commerce System
Borderless Order Entry System (BOES) Simplifies
International Trade Transactions
Blacksburg, Virginia, January 19, 2005 - DE
Technologies, Inc., a private company specializing in global trade services
technology and patent technology licensing, announced today the U.S. Patent
and Trademark Office has awarded U.S. Patent No. 6,845,364 for its
Borderless Order Entry System (BOES) on January 18, 2005. This is the second
U.S. patent awarded to DE Technologies’ co-inventors Ed Pool and Douglas
Mauer for their breakthrough advancement in trade logistics computer
technology now being utilized in whole or in part by major corporations,
global trade services providers, logistics providers, regulatory, and border
security authorities.
The BOES technology is the only patented integrated process
technology to electronically manage international trade logistics and
transactions.
According to Mr. Pool, co-founder and CEO of DE Technologies, “We are very
pleased that after nearly five years of additional scrutiny and review, the
U.S. Patent Office has agreed for a second time that DE Technologies
invented the computer process to electronically manage and process the
complex elements of international trade logistics and transactions.” This
action by the United States Government adds to the rights previously
obtained in our original U.S. Patent No. 6,460,020 (‘020) issued on October
1, 2002 and filed in December 1996. “This second patent underscores our
legal ownership to this intellectual property and increases our options to
protect its ownership against unlicensed use.” said Pool. The’020 patent is
at the center of DE Technologies’ patent infringement lawsuit against Dell
Computers, Inc. on-going in Roanoke, Virginia since October 2004.
”This second patent is very significant not only because it confirms the
validity of our first patent, but also because it broadens the scope of our
patent protection over the first patent,” said Bruce K. Lagerman, President
of DE Technologies. “We look forward to speaking with potential licensees,
partners, and investors in the coming weeks to build a thoughtful approach
to commercializing our patented system and preventing any further
unauthorized use by global trade services providers and users.”
DE Technologies maintains strong patent coverage in the following countries:
United States (No.
6,460,020 & No. 6,845,364); New Zealand (No. 505284); Singapore (No. 74390);
Australia (No. 758864); and Mexico (No. 217354). Additional patents are
pending in more than 10 countries.
About DE Technologies
DE Technologies’ patent portfolio covers the specific computer regimens
required to calculate, integrate, process and produce the necessary data
requirements to fulfill a codified international transaction. The invention
will allow for an automated, universally accessible system (common backbone)
for the global purchase/sale of goods eliminating unlicensed proprietary
systems. To this end DE Technologies received TASK Order No. 2051-056-001 in
1998 from the United States Department of Commerce to allow equitable
distribution of the patented technology to Small and Mid Size Enterprises (SME).
